- Being positioned in North Chennai gives the theatre a genuinely important role for local families who’d otherwise need to travel further south for a comparable cinema experience
What I Dreams Theatre Chennai Gets Right
One detailed review sums up the theatre’s appeal well: for anyone around Parry’s Corner or North Chennai wanting a movie, this should be the first option. That praise is echoed across other feedback, painting a picture of a genuinely solid neighbourhood cinema.
- The theatre is described as neat and compact, with a well-organised feel rather than a sprawling, impersonal complex
- Sound system quality is called decent, contributing to a satisfying overall viewing experience
- Seating and screen visibility both earn positive mentions
- Pricing is described as moderate, positioning the theatre as accessible for regular family outings
- Car parking is available, alongside other amenities that visitors describe as covering everything needed for a comfortable visit
A Genuine Concern Worth Knowing About
This is worth addressing directly and honestly, since it’s a specific, detailed complaint rather than a vague grievance. One reviewer described a troubling experience specifically tied to first-day-first-show screenings: shows failing to run due to projector faults or the film reel not arriving, with management not properly informing waiting viewers. According to this account, audiences were left waiting from the scheduled time until well past it, and refund handling was reportedly poor, with the reviewer specifically advising more discerning moviegoers to avoid the theatre based on this experience.
This is a serious enough complaint that it’s worth factoring into your planning, particularly if you’re specifically chasing an opening-day show:
- Technical issues around projector faults or missing film reels have been reported, particularly around major new releases
- Communication from management during such disruptions has been described as inadequate
- Refund processes following a cancelled or delayed show have drawn specific criticism in this account
It’s worth noting this is one detailed account among a broader set of generally positive reviews, so it may reflect an isolated incident rather than a systemic issue — but given how specific and serious the complaint is, treating it as a genuine risk factor for opening-day bookings, rather than dismissing it, seems the fair approach.
I Dreams Theatre Chennai Ticket Price
No officially published, fixed rate card was available across current platforms for this theatre. Visitor feedback consistently describes pricing as moderate, positioning the theatre as accessible for regular family visits rather than either a bare-bones budget option or a premium destination.
- Standard ticket pricing is generally viewed as reasonable relative to other Chennai cinema options
- Pricing will still vary by film, seating category, and current demand
- For the exact current rate on a specific show, checking the official IDream Cinemas website or Ticketnew directly before booking is the most reliable way to confirm
I Dreams Theatre Chennai Show Timings
The theatre operates Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 8 PM, though this reflects general business hours rather than a fixed film schedule.
- Expect the usual pattern of morning, afternoon, and evening shows within these operating hours

- Checking a live listing on the official website or Ticketnew before heading out remains the most dependable way to confirm the actual current schedule
Planning Your Visit
- If you’re specifically chasing a first-day-first-show screening, be aware of the reported technical and communication issues, and consider a slightly later show if flexibility works for you
- Confirm current showtimes and pricing on the official IDream Cinemas website or Ticketnew before heading out
