Priya Theatre Palakkad is actually a three-screen multiplex operating under the name Priyadarsini Cinema, though longtime residents may still remember it by its earlier name, Ramdas Theatre. Located on Priyadarsini Road in Vidyut Nagar, it’s grown from a single hall into a genuine multi-screen complex, giving Palakkad city moviegoers a real choice of films running simultaneously rather than one release dominating the whole venue.

From Ramdas Theatre to a Three-Screen Multiplex
This is worth knowing before anything else, since it explains why you might see two different names attached to the same venue. Older listings and long-time Palakkad residents may still refer to this cinema as Ramdas Theatre, while current branding across booking platforms uses Priyadarsini Cinema, with Priya Theatre as the commonly used shorthand. The venue has expanded to three separate screens, each running its own daily schedule — a genuine step up from a single-hall operation, giving the theatre real flexibility in what it can show at any given time.
Priya Theatre Palakkad Address and Location
The full address is Priyadarsini Road, Vidyut Nagar, Palakkad, Kerala – 678001.
A few practical points worth knowing:
- Priyadarsini Road is a well-known reference point in Palakkad city, making the theatre reasonably easy to locate
- The Stadium Bus Stand, Palakkad’s largest private bus terminal, sits within the city and serves routes to Kozhikode, Thrissur, Pollachi, and several other destinations, giving the theatre reasonable connectivity for visitors arriving from outside the city
- Being centrally located in Palakkad city means combining a visit with other errands or shopping is a natural pairing
What Priya Theatre Palakkad Offers Across Its Three Screens
Running as a three-screen complex gives this theatre a genuinely different profile from a typical single-hall neighbourhood cinema. Current listings show films spread across all three screens, with two screens running a full four-show daily pattern and the third running a slightly reduced three-show schedule.
- Multiple screens mean audiences get a genuine choice of films playing concurrently, rather than a single release taking over the whole venue
- The theatre supports online booking through its own official website as well as third-party platforms like District, Ticketnew, and Justickets
- One important booking detail: the theatre does not permit ticket cancellations once a booking is confirmed, so double-checking your show, screen, and seat selection before paying is more important here than at venues with flexible cancellation policies
Detailed visitor commentary on specific seating comfort, sound quality, or amenities wasn’t consistently available across the platforms checked for this guide. Given the theatre’s multi-screen setup and active online booking presence, a reasonably modern, well-organised cinema experience seems the fair expectation, though checking recent reviews or the theatre’s own site closer to your visit date is worth doing if particular details matter to you.
Priya Theatre Palakkad Ticket Price
No officially published, fixed rate card was available across current platforms for this theatre. Given its positioning as a three-screen multiplex in a mid-sized Kerala city rather than a premium destination cinema, pricing is likely to sit in an accessible, moderate range typical of similarly structured Kerala multiplexes.
- Ticket pricing will vary by film, screen, seating category, and current demand
- Since cancellations aren’t allowed, confirming your exact film, screen, and showtime preferences before paying is essential
- For the exact current rate on a specific show, checking the theatre’s official website, District, or Ticketnew directly before booking is the most reliable way to confirm
Priya Theatre Palakkad Show Timings
Recent listings show a consistent pattern across the theatre’s three screens:
- Screen 1: 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, 6:00 PM, 9:00 PM
- Screen 2: 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, 6:00 PM, 9:00 PM
- Screen 3: 2:30 PM, 6:00 PM, 9:00 PM
These timings can shift depending on the specific films currently running, so treating this as a general pattern rather than a fixed daily guarantee is the safer approach. The theatre itself notes that show times may change and recommends checking the official booking link for the most current schedule before finalising plans.
